Yellow faced whip snake

This snake is considered mildly venomous and bites can be cause localised pain and severe symptoms, if a bite occurs seek urgent medical attention.

Description

Body slender. Deep narrow head is marginally distinct from neck. Large eyes. Dorsal colour is pale grey to olive-grey, head can be yellow or same colour as body. Mid body scales are 15 rows.

habitat

Diurnal. Lives in rocky woodland and tropical savannah.

Diet

Feeds on lizards.

Distribution

From south eastern SA, through to north west Vic , to NSW coast and up easter half of Qld to Mossman.
