This snake is not considered dangerous to humans although the toxicity of their bite will have a different reaction on each individual, first aid is always recommended. 

Description

Body slender, head is marginally distinct from neck. Top of body reddish to dark brown, orange to reddish band across black nape. Mid body scales are 15 rows.

habitat

Nocturnal. Lives in open woodland, deserts, rocky outcrops and mallee.

Diet

Feeds on lizards.

Distribution

From Rockhampton, Qld south and west , covering most of NSW and easter SA including Flinders Ranges to Port Augusta and far north west VIC.
