This snake is not considered dangerous to humans and are completely harmless, they are often confused with earthworms.  

Description

Blind snakes are Australia’s second largest group of snakes although poorly studied as they live underground and are hard to find. Colour varies from dark purplish brown to blackish brown. Mid body scales are 24 rows. 

habitat

Fossorial living underground and burrowing, live in closed and open forests, woodland, grassland depending on species can live in a wide range of habitats. 

Diet

Feeds almost exclusively on ants and termites and their larvae. 

Distribution

All Australian mainland except Tasmania.
